The BackRooms is an eerie yet familiar place, everything seems the same yet... different. Is someone watching you? What will you find?

Today, I have assembled a list of 4 VR-compatible BackRooms games / Games within other VR games that let you play the backrooms. This list does not just use the "showcase" feature to have flatscreen games in VR, but games that have some sort of actual VR integration from the developers.

POOLS

Starting at number 1 is POOLS, a very popular BackRooms game in the community that recently added full VR support this year! Pools is a BackRooms game that mainly features variations of the "pools" level from the liminal space universe, which the BackRooms is a part of.

POOLS has a free demo available on its Steam listing, which includes the VR portion of the game, so you can try it out for free before deciding whether to drop $9.79 for this 10/10 backrooms experience.

Escape the Backrooms

At number 2 is Escape the Backrooms, a game developed by the popular YouTube channel Fancy. The game features multiple levels from the liminal space universe, and it's not just a game where you sit back, relax, and explore. This game fights back with multiple levels that have enemies that can take you out, forcing you to restart the level.

Now, this game has built-in VR support from the developer, but due to it not being "ready for production," they disabled it from the Steam launch page. So, to actually play the native VR version, you go to the game on Steam > Right Click The Name > Manage > Browse Local Files. After doing that, you launch the executable "backrooms.exe" while your VR headset is connected, and you will then be out in the VR mode of the game.

Also, if you are having any issues actually pressing the menu buttons in VR, YouTube Hugo made a tutorial on how to get that working!

Escape the Backrooms is currently being sold for $9.99 via Steam.

The Backrooms by RyuukaVR (VRChat)

At number 3 is The Backrooms by RyuukaVR! This is a Backrooms experience on VRChat, a free social VR platform with many games, including this one! This Backrooms experience features multiple monsters and a playtime of about 30 minutes or so.

Being that the world is available in VRChat, this one is completely free to play! Simple search for "The Backrooms" on VRChat and join the one created by RyuukaVR, or use this public world link!

Backrooms VRC (VRChat)

Last at number 4 is Backrooms VRC, another VRChat backrooms experience. This one is a little different than spot number 4 due to it having multiple levels that are completely different, like from what you would expect in a standalone Backrooms game.

This Backrooms game was re-launched by a new owner of the world and still seems to be actively updated at the time of writing this. The game has about 50 minutes of playtime. Of course, again, being a VRChat game, it is completely free!

Simply search "Bacrooms VRC' on VRChat to find the world, or click this public world link.
