Find random VRChat worlds!
VRChat has options in-game for finding VRChat worlds like the "random" category on the worlds menu. This shows you a small set of random VRChat worlds to explore, but what about if you are not in-game and want a feed of random worlds?
Introducing: The @VRWorlds bot!
I thought it would be cool to have a random feed of world from VRChat in your feed on the Fediverse, or even if you don't have an account! If you navigate to @VRWorlds on the vrparty.social Mastodon instance you can see a lit of random VRChat worlds in the feed.
This feed is automated, ran by a bot that auto picks these worlds and makes sure to not post duplicate worlds. The bot posts these worlds every 8 hours and it tries it's best to pick a random world, not just popular ones, so sometimes it may even post a world that was never actually published with only 10 visits.
The bot stores a list of worlds it has already posted to avoid posting the same world multiple times, as this list fills up and more already popular worlds get added to it I am guessing it will slowly post more and more worlds with a low popularity.
I think it's cool to have a sort of sudo-repository of worlds like this off of VRChat for people to see and discuss about, of course though you don't need an account to view the feed! Simply bookmark it in your browser and navigate over to it whenever you want.
